The founder of Outward Bound USA, Josh Miner said, “If you are lucky, just once in your life you will be associated with a great idea.” If I have one great idea, it is that connecting people might save the world.”
– from Writing to Change the World, Mary Pipher
I’m thinking this great idea’s time has come, would you agree?
I also think I probably don’t have to go on too much about why I accepted what I think of as a “divine invitation” to host a fundraiser for the people of Ukraine who’ve been forced to flee their homes, towns, country.
Here is another quote that sums it up:
Do all the good you can
By all the means you can
In all the ways you can
In all the places you can
At all the times you can
To all the people you can
As long as ever you can
-John Wesley
I remember the comfort and care I felt when my friends and family brought home cooked meals for us when I was recovering from surgery. Even now all these months later, it still feeds my heart.
Sometimes the simple things are the most nourishing during the worst of times.
And that’s why I’ve chosen World Central Kitchen as the charity to benefit from the sales of the fundraiser. Each pin is $30 with 50% ($15 ea) to go toward providing hot meals 24/7 to the countries and borders flooded with refugees.
My aspiration is to sell 1000 hearts and raise $15,000 in 30 days.
If we each do a little, together it adds up, have you noticed?
Here is a little something we can do:
Today your purchase- 1 heart for your heart, and even one for a family member or two, and we could be 30-40% of the way with that alone.
Please spread the word on your social media platforms and community.
